TLSS Specialist | Transitional Living Team

At Bringing Families Together, Employee of the Month is always special — because it’s chosen by peers. And this month, our team recognized someone who has already made a powerful impact in a short amount of time.

We’re proud to celebrate Kyle Dunn as our February Employee of the Month! 💜

Kyle joined BFT in June 2025 as a TLSS Specialist on our Transitional Living Team, working directly with teens and young adults preparing to age out of foster care. His focus is helping youth build the skills, confidence and mindset needed to step into independence successfully.

As shared in his Welcome to the Team blog post, Kyle said:

“My favorite thing about working at BFT is seeing the young adults come into our Transitional Living Program with limited independent life skills and exit the program with guidance and understanding of what's needed to become independent as an adult daily.”

That passion shows up in everything he does.

Showing Up for Youth — and Stepping Up for the Team

Kyle has been especially impactful with our male youth. One team member recently shared:

“Kyle does well with our male youth. He relates to their struggles, and he keeps them on their toes.”

During our Loving the Girl in the Mirror October TLSS training, while the girls focused on self-reflection and self-confidence, Kyle stepped up for the guys — taking them shopping for essentials and turning it into a hands-on budgeting and decision-making lesson. You can read more about that training here.

And that wasn’t a one-time moment. Since joining BFT, Kyle has supported multiple TLSS monthly trainings focused on building real-world skills. His involvement in our summer sessions helped youth continue growing skills and confidence — read more about those trainings here.

These trainings blend practical lessons with lifelong skills — and Kyle has embraced every opportunity to engage, encourage and empower.

A Strong Role Model

Kyle was also recently highlighted in our Men of BFT blog post, which you can read here. In that feature, we shared how Kyle serves as a positive male role model for youth preparing for independence — something that makes a meaningful difference for teens navigating foster care.

He holds a B.S. in Corporate Recreation and Wellness, has a background in youth supervision and direct care, and even brings leadership experience from being part of the NCAA’s 2009 Football Coaching Staff of the Year. His love for sports and recreation gives him another way to connect with youth in authentic and engaging ways.

Why His Peers Chose Him

Kyle’s recognition this month reflects more than just showing up — it reflects showing up consistently, intentionally, and with heart. In a short time, he has built trust with youth, supported his team, and strengthened the Transitional Living Program.

Kyle, thank you for investing in our young adults, challenging them to grow, and walking alongside them as they prepare for independence. We are grateful for the leadership, energy, and dedication you bring to BFT every day.

Congratulations on being our February Employee of the Month! 💜
