Making an Adoption Plan
We invite you to consider your options with us and learn more about the often overlooked option of open adoption today. No coercion. The decision is yours.
What’s your response when you hear the word "adoption?" Do you think adoption is giving up or giving away your child?
At Bringing Families Together, adoption is a birth parents' choice and choosing adoption is making a plan for your child.
There are many different options when creating an adoption plan for your child - and it is your choice!
One young birth mother said to the adoptive parents, “If I had aborted my baby I would have given up on her. I chose to give her life and a better life than I could give her.”
Whether you are facing an unplanned pregnancy or looking for an amazing family to adopt your infant or toddler, whether you’re hiding a pregnancy, or you have already given birth, we are here to help you explore all of your options.
Types of adoptions available
Your adoption specialist can help you explore what options you feel are best for your adoption plan.
Today’s adoptions look different than you might expect. Open adoptions have made a way for birth parents to have information and sometimes an ongoing relationship with their child.
There are three main types of adoption:
-
Open Adoption
-
Semi-Open Adoption
-
Closed Adoption
Open / semi-open adoption is where there is contact between birth and adoptive parents. This has proven to be a very positive option because it takes away the “mystery.” All parties involved gain a sense of comfort and confidence.
Closed adoption means there is no contact between the birth parent(s) and adoptive parent(s).
Again, your adoption type / adoption plan is your choice.
