💜 Welcome to the Team: Vickie Desire Nasirumbi

ree

We’re so happy to welcome Vickie Desire Nasirumbi to Bringing Families Together! She joined our Case Management Team in June 2025 as a Family Service Worker, bringing international experience, deep compassion and a heart for advocacy to her work with children and families.

Before joining BFT, Vickie Desire served as a Social Worker with Save the Children–Africa and United Nations Women, where she supported families through crisis, education, and empowerment programs. Her work has taken her across communities and cultures, always grounded in a belief that every family deserves hope, stability, and connection.

Born in Rwanda and a graduate of high school in Uganda - and holds a B.A. degree - Vickie Desire brings a global perspective—and a beautiful motto that guides her life and work:

“We rise by lifting others.”

When asked about her favorite part of serving children and families, she shared:

“What I love most about this job is being able to be there for these families and children in difficult times and happy times too. I get to witness human resilience firsthand—advocating for and encouraging them to walk the journey.”

Through her role at BFT, Vickie Desire continues that mission every day—walking beside families, celebrating progress, and helping each child and caregiver find strength in their own story.

💜 Vickie Desire, thank you for sharing your compassion, insight and dedication with our BFT team. We’re so glad you’re here!
