At Bringing Families Together, we know that teamwork is everything—whether it’s supporting foster youth, working alongside foster and adoptive families, or cheering on our hometown baseball team! Last week, our team took a well-deserved break from their busy schedules to celebrate the St. Louis Cardinals’ Home Opener, and it was a home run of a day!

Why Taking a Break Matters

Every day, our incredible team works tirelessly to ensure children in foster care have safe, loving homes and that families receive the support they need. The work we do is deeply meaningful, but it can also be demanding. That’s why moments like these—where we come together, step away for a bit, and enjoy something as exciting as Cardinals baseball—are so important.

Self-care and team bonding aren’t just nice extras; they are essential to the work we do. When we take time to recharge, we return even more energized, focused, and ready to serve the children and families who count on us. Just like a great baseball team, we know that teamwork, dedication, and passion make all the difference.

As we cheered on the Cardinals, we were reminded of the power of community. Whether it’s in baseball or foster care, success comes from people coming together with a shared goal. The Cardinals have their fans, coaches, and teammates, just like Bringing Families Together has an incredible network of social workers, foster parents and supporters working toward the same mission: helping children and families thrive.
