At Bringing Families Together, some team members don’t just ease into their role — they jump right in and get to work making an impact from day one. That’s exactly what makes Kelly Selby our April Employee of the Month! 💜

Kelly joined BFT in July 2025 as part of our Parenting+Plus Program Team, and has already become a trusted, hands-on presence for the families she serves. Whether she’s supporting parents in building stronger relationships with their children or stepping in to help with practical needs like car seat installation and safety support, Kelly shows up ready to do whatever it takes to support families in real, tangible ways.

Her colleagues quickly noticed her strong work ethic, willingness to step in wherever needed, and her ability to connect both compassionately and practically with the families she serves. She doesn’t hesitate to learn, adjust and take on new tasks — all with the shared goal of helping families succeed.

Kelly brings a rich background of experience to her role, including nearly a decade of work supporting parents and children navigating disabilities, trauma, mental health needs and foster care. She also has more than 10 years of lived and professional experience managing her son’s care and coordinating complex medical and government support systems — experience that deeply informs her empathy and understanding of the families she serves today.

With a B.A. and M.A., Kelly blends education, lived experience and professional practice in a way that helps her meet families exactly where they are.

When asked what she loves most about her work, Kelly shared:

“My favorite thing about working at BFT is making a positive difference in people's lives by helping parents and children build better relationships through educating parents on how to better manage their children's lives. I was a young, single mom who needed parenting advice, but I didn't know where or how to get it. I get to help the families that I serve benefit from my mistakes and knowledge, which makes it all worth it.”

That perspective is at the heart of Kelly’s work — turning experience into guidance and guidance into meaningful change for families.

From hands-on support like car seat assistance to deeper relational work with parents, Kelly brings both action and heart into everything she does. She reminds us that growth doesn’t just come from training and tools — it also comes from understanding, empathy and showing up fully for others.
