Our Bringing Families Together community gathered for a heartwarming and fun-filled Trunk or Treat annual free event for our kids, families and the greater community on October 19 – the event was a rousing success! Our Trunk or Treat provided fun and excitement for the kids and their families in a safe and welcoming environment. Be sure to read to the end to see the beautiful photos of happy children!
Volunteers decorated their car trunks in creative, spooky and whimsical themes, providing the perfect backdrop for the kids to collect their candy, creating a festive environment. The success of the event was thanks to the strong sense of community and the generosity of our team, volunteers, sponsors and donors. Local businesses stepped up to donate candy, treats and decorations, ensuring every child had a special day. Our BFT team and foster families were in attendance, providing support and building connections within the community.
Special Touches for the Children
In addition to the traditional trunk or treating, there were plenty of activities to keep the little ones engaged. Children enjoyed the GLAD puppets, free candy and popcorn, and a DJ and photo booth donated by Endy Events where families could take fun Halloween pictures together. The event was about more than trunk or treating—it was about making memories and creating a sense of belonging for every child, especially those in the foster care system.
Supporting Foster Families
The event wasn’t just for the kids—it was a moment for foster families to come together and feel appreciated. It allowed them to bond with other families, share their stories and find support in a community that understands their unique challenges. In addition to creating a welcoming space for kits, it is also important to have a space where foster parents can find connection and resources – and to thank them for all they do!
