This June, Bringing Families Together celebrates a milestone we’re incredibly proud of—26 years of strengthening families, supporting children, and building safe, nurturing homes through foster care, adoption and family services.
On June 29, 1999, three bold and compassionate women—Randi Howard, Liz Ervin, and Kim Brown—came together with a shared vision: to uplift children and families and provide the support they need to thrive. They founded BFT with heart, grit, and a clear mission:
“Bringing Families Together strengthens families and children by promoting self-sufficiency, well-being and safety through prevention, intervention, education and advocacy.”
What started as a dream has grown into over two decades of impactful service—one family at a time. Since day one, BFT has stood alongside Missouri families, empowering them with tools, resources and compassionate care. Whether it’s helping a child find their forever home, supporting a parent through a tough time, or advocating for stronger families and communities, we remain grounded in the same purpose that started it all.
