Yesterday was a day full of joy, love, and so many happy tears in Franklin County, Missouri, as two little girls officially found their forever home—and their forever family. After 818 days in care, these girls were adopted into a loving home through the dedication and teamwork of our Saint Louis Partners collaboration.
And what made the moment even sweeter? It also happened to be the adoptive parents’ wedding anniversary! They called it their “family-versary”—a day to forever celebrate the love that grew into something even more beautiful: a family.
The girls had been in the care of our Saint Louis Partners' agency Lutheran Family and Children’s Services of Missouri. Their new family came through Good Shepherd Children & Family Services, and we were honored to be there to support and celebrate. Watching our partners agencies walk hand in hand through this journey—alongside court staff, caseworkers, and of course the incredible family—was a true picture of what it means to surround children with care, hope and opportunity.
We know every adoption day is special. But this one? This one was magic. These two girls didn’t just get a new last name. They got a lifetime of love, support and belonging. And their parents got the most meaningful anniversary gift imaginable: a family-versary to celebrate year after year.
To the family: thank you for opening your hearts so fully. To the girls: we are cheering you on, today and always.
With love,
The BFT Team
