About the Role
Bringing Families Together is hiring for the position of Family Service Worker! This is your opportunity to make a difference for families and children in foster care!
The Family Service Worker (FSW) works to provide services to children and families impacted by the foster care system in the St. Louis region. The FSW must be capable of functioning independently and practicing good judgment and discretion in decision making regarding children’s safety and well-being.
As a professional, this position requires good scheduling and time management skills to meet the needs of the families being served. The role of the FSW is critical to the success of families and children. The FSW supports children and families as they journey through foster care, provides supportive referrals and ensures families have access to needed services, including transporting children to parent child visitation.

Base Salary: $43,888

Requirements
Essential Responsibilities:
Builds positive relationships with families that ensures foster children are protected and nurtured.
Works with families to identify strengths, interests and needs.
Education, Skills & Other Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Nursing or related field with relevant experience required.
One (1) year of working with families at risk is highly preferred.
Must have access to a reliable vehicle for home visits, with valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively (oral and written communication), enjoys interacting with young children and families in their home, while maintaining confidentiality, are required.
