About the Role
Bringing Families Together is hiring for the position of Family Service Worker! This is your opportunity to make a meaningful difference for families and children in foster care.
The Family Service Worker (FSW) provides services to children and families impacted by foster care in the St. Louis region. The FSW must be capable of functioning independently and practicing good judgment and discretion when making decisions regarding children’s safety and well-being.
This position requires strong scheduling and time management skills to meet the needs of the families being served. The role of the FSW is critical to the success of children and families. The FSW supports them throughout their foster care journey, provides supportive referrals and ensures access to needed services, including transporting children to parent-child visitation.

This position is part of our awesome Case Management Team.
Base Salary: $43,888

Requirements
Essential Responsibilities:
Builds positive relationships with families that ensures foster children are protected and nurtured.
Works with families to identify strengths, interests and needs.
Education, Skills & Other Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Nursing or related field with relevant experience required.
One (1) year of working with families at risk is highly preferred.
Must have access to a reliable vehicle for home visits, with valid driver's license and vehicle insurance.
Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively (oral and written communication), enjoys interacting with young children and families in their home, while maintaining confidentiality, are required.
