SaintLouisPartners (a.k.a. PARTNERS) is a federation of some of the most successful child welfare agencies in St. Louis, Missouri:  Catholic Charities, Good Shepherd Children & Family Services, Bringing Families Together, Lutheran Family and Children’s Services, and Our Little Haven.  This federation’s goal is to promote the welfare of children and families through the provision of quality services.

In early 2005, the PARTNERS agencies united to provide contracted foster care case management services for Missouri’s Department of Social Services-Children’s Division.  Each agency brought its own unique programs along with a history of serving Missouri’s children and families with the highest standards.  Prior to the formal alliance established between these agencies, they had developed strong working relationships between them.  Through this partnership an effective system of services for children and families has been implemented and the partnership will continue to increase opportunities, resources, and supports to reach for permanency for our families.

“What Can My Family Do to Help PARTNERS?”

*  There is a great need for respite families: foster or adoptive families that provide a “break” for other foster families by taking care of their foster children for a short period of time.  Respite rates are currently $20 per day, per child.

*  PARTNERS need families who can accept placements after hours, during weekends, and on holidays. In keeping the child’s best interest, PARTNERS strives to make the first placement the only placement for the child.

*  PARTNTERS need families who are willing to participate in additional foster parent training to provide services for children with special medical and behavioral needs.

“We Are a PARTNERS Family, But Our Home Is Full.  What Can We Do To Help?”

*  PARTNERS is in the process of developing a mentoring program.

*  PARTNERS is developing the “Clothing Closet” to supplement the children’s yearly clothing allowance.  Donations of new and used items for the children will be accepted.

*  PARTNERS has developed a Recruitment Committee, which is responsible for devising new ways to recruit new families to foster or adopt.

*  PARTNERS has a Resource Review Team, which reviews any concerns or complaints that occur during any of the PARTNERS cases.  Foster and adoptive parents can volunteer their time to be a part of this review team.

*  PARTNERS has a newsletter to keep their families informed of changes and training opportunities.     Volunteers are needed to help create and circulate the newsletter.
